blue4u,

We'd be happy to have you as a customer. And just so you know, there isn't any reason that I know of the KB device wouldn't work with RiffWorks Standard. RW Standard should work with any ASIO device on Windows as opposed to RW L6 Edition only working with specified Line 6 devices. Now, I'm assuming that the KB uses the same ASIO driver base as the TonePort. If that's true, I'm sure the device will work great with RW Standard. In fact, the L6 drivers are some of the best out there.

I have to admit that I'm a little frustrated that the KB device doesn't work with RiffWorks L6 Edition. Because it is an inter-company problem it will likely take a little while to address.

Thanks for the kind reply Dave. Sign me up! I'm gonna covert to RW2 Standard tonight and get rid of this drama. I will have the issue with converting all my drummers over but I'm hoping that there is a process for this? I seem to remember people having to email something and do a few workarounds. Is this still the case?

Rich,

If you just had the 6 drummers that came with V1, you get those same drummers plus two more when you switch to Standard. If you bought additional drummers, you have to have them crossgraded as well (at no cost). I know its a little bit of a pain, but Randy will definitely take care of you. Check out this link...

Here was Line 6's response to my last email asking them to clarify why they won't support their new KB37 product working with RiffWorks. I think it speaks for itself...

"We have not heard from you concerning your request for support in the
48 hours since we sent you a response. Consequently, we have changed
the status of your question to SOLVED."

LOL. How funny is that! Looks like I might the right choice by upgrading to standard. I got my other instant drummers within days and the support staff here was MUCH more responsive! Thanks Sonoma :)

This is weird. Is L6 trying to push Ableton now over RW? I really hope not, because I have the KB coming very soon.

Could it be blue4u, that it just didn't work on your system? Did the L6 guys say anything about it not working at all with RW, or that your problem was just an isolated one? I really hate the idea of having to spend another $100+ for RW all over again. That's not going to go over well with me.

I wonder what can be done about this.

My situation might have been a fluke. It works out for me never-the-less as I intended to buy Guitar Rig and try out other VST plug ins. The added flexibility was worth an upgrade to expand my options going forward.

I could have waited for Line 6 to resolve this and in time, if there is a larger issue I'm sure it will get fixed (eventually). However, I used it as an opportunity to make the switch. Aside from that, I feel better getting support DIRECTLY from Sonoma over having to work back and forth between two companies trying to figure out which one will support which product. Sonoma is more concerned with their customers possibly because they are a young company. I wasn't feelin' much love from Line 6 but they DO make incredible products cheap so, what can you do.

BTW, Ableton Live is an excellent supplement to RW. You might give it a look :)

Hey guys,

Line 6 is going to get an email about this from me. That was a pretty poor response from customer support, and I'm pretty disappointed if that is the case. There is no reason the KB37 should not be a supported device for Riffworks the Line 6 edition. This upsets me. Have no fear, I am here.
