Here's my 2 cent suggestion:
that worked for me on getting a WAV file into RW...I had some WAV loops and some WAV backing tracks... I ran the CD out into a 1/4" and went into the input on my Pod XTL (dry) and fed that into RW, recorded the track(s) after finding out how many measures to set by timing and watching how many tracks the song/loop lasted... and I had a backing track layer in RW. Granted, not top notch fidelity... but it can be spruced up with the riff effects. Might get you to a point to piece together your betamonkey WAV loops by piecing together duplicate layers of the RW riffs.
