Just bought Riffworks (version 1) can't access free upgrade. Monkey says already
installed when it clearly isn't. No positive response from Line 6. Can't download any
drummers (v2) . . .frustrated ! !

You need to download the RiffWorks Line 6 Edition from the Line 6 website. Then install it. Then register with Sonoma Wire Works, download RWL6 Edition Register, run that. Does the monkey say installed or activated? It can be activated without being installed.

Nozzer,

There are two versions of RiffWorks Standard.
One is a Line6 version (available from Line6 like Terry says) which ties the RW software to a piece of Line6 hardware (like GuitarPort or TonePort)
The other version of RW effectively does away with the need for Line6 hardware (although you can still use GP or TP with it).

Which one are you trying to upgrade to?

If your Monkey is saying RW is activated, try putting in your licence key again. If it says it's already activated after that, type in the word "refresh" (no inverted commas) where the licence key goes.
Cheers!
Scott

Thanks for the replies. Not had a chance to look at the situation again. I have no licence key as having purchased the software after feb 2006 i'm told i am entitled to a 'free upgrade'. I bought the package with guitarport which works fine. I Then installed the LineMonkey as per line6 instructions. when i run the program it indicates via green ticked box that Version2 is activated. Followed all instructions but now at a dead end. was considering uninstalling everything and starting again but wondered if that may cause further problems.

I've had a similar problem. I have v2 on my PC & can listen to the demo. When I try to save it says I need to activate it on line. When I use the monkey it times out every time.

Which green ticked box? There are green things for "activated" and green things for "installed". It can be activated, but not installed, or installed but not activated.
