I use Reason to put bass and drums in with RW. They are the perfect combination!! I also make loops in Reason and import them into RW via the rex player. Reason is a little difficult to use in comparison to RW, but an amazing program.

You can either use the drum computer or play them manually via midi. The kits take some time to dial in, but with the rack effects you can add to any of the drum patches you create some really great sounds. I haven't released anything new in the last while......but from here on out everything I record will be done with Reason doing all of my backing instruments.

Let me know if you have any questions and I will to help ya as best I can......just send me an email.

I really love Reason as well. I wanna use it to put in my own drum beats and symphony instruments. How exactly can you do it?

I have a a saved configuration I use to add bass and drums to my tunes in RW. I like the Ampeg bass preset, and I have a modified rock kit saved in the redrum computer. The drums get some compression and verb.....

Once I have a riff recorded I can simply go in and program the beat I am looking for, and I will manually play the bass using Bome's mouse/keyboard which allows you to use your PC keyboard as a midi controller. I may have to go in and clean up the bass lines a bit for timing sake.

Once I have the song completed I mix to riff......and voilà!

Reason is an awesome tool. The one disadvantage is that it does not support VSTi plugins. You are stuck with the Reason soundbank sounds and 3rd party refills for all your sounds. There are a million sounds available though.

The other disadvantage is the price. I'm not saying it isn't worth it, because of what I've seen it is an awesome program. Just a little pricey for a hobbyist.

Yeah they really need a Reason "Lite" cause it is not cheap.......and it is not very user friendly program to learn. It is capable of some great stuff.........but man it can be frustrating learning to use it.
