I have started to dabble in the making of drum loops. To be a little more specific I am creating loop sets in Rex format geared towards being used in Riffworks via the Rex player.

I am going to focus on heavier sets at first, but hopefully be able to expand into other areas where the instant drummers are lacking content like odd time signatures and such.

I may be able to work with Sonoma/Drummerheads in the future to produce instant drummer sessions...........which would be very cool for everyone I think!

Head on over to my main site and check the Loops page for the audio sample and download link!

Enjoy!

any fast 2/4 or 3/4 ts's, maybe 200, 300 bpm, and I'm in... gotta use the metronome for 3/4 which sucks...

Nobody else has anything to add? Some of the guys on the Line 6 boards had made suggestions that i am going to listen to...once was to drop the pricing........which I will do cause if nobody buys them there is no point in making them right?

The other suggestion was to do dry kits......which I will also do. I am surprised they has not been more input here to as to what you would like to see made......but as always drop me line if you have any suggestions.

Shred you rock. I think it's an AWESOME idea that you have taken it upon yourself to do this!
Don't have 2nd thoughts!!!!
You will be doing a huge service that is sorely needed!...........
Think about it drummer loops upon request.....

I would ask for more 1-2 beats AKA country type beats ..........not that I'm a country boy mind you!
I don't really use the double kick type stuff myself but I know that it is essential to some ........so keep up the great work!
And YEAH!!!! this thread should have some more input ........
so come on girls!

I can do that...........let me work on it..............

The hard part is obviously pleasing everyone.........which I am sure will never happen..... LOL

But what I really need from people right now is direction......requests.......and some people to use them. I mean if 2.99 is out to lunch....is 1.99 acceptable? I am willing to put in the time.....I just need someone to play with me.....LOL

Reaggae drummers pleeeease! That would be awesome. Here are some samples:

The Sly Needs a Roof instant drummer is OK but not too versiltle. If you could make one to rival it I would be thoroughly impressed. Dont give up!!!

Wow Shred...I just listened to the loops you have done so far and think they are great....super good sound quality too. I tried making my own custom instant drummer one afternoon with some instruction I found on a post in this forum but couldn't get it to work after spending about 30 minutes on it. Have you had any luck with that yet?

I did a forum search and can't find the post with the "how to" for making Instant Drummers but had no luck. Here is a quote from one of the Sanoma guys with a cool tip:

"We don't have a publicly available tool to make your own Instant Drummer files. You can use REX files or ReWire to create your own drummers. For example, you could buy a REX library or drum loops from any number of companies and just load the REX files with the REX Player Backup. If you want to layer several REX files, you can load them all and save the Backup Preset in case you ever want to use that arrangement again."

Here is the search results if anyone wants to try to find the instructions..I wish I remember who posted it.

http://www.sonomawireworks.com/forums/search.php?search_id=599262735

Sonoma has hointed before at making it and option in a future release to build your own Instant Drummer sessions. i am sure there are legal issues as well. If you buy a loop CD and make some instant drummers and then try to sell them or even give them away it gets a little sticky. I hope what Shred is doing is cool because I love the loops so far!
