A good friend of mine has a similar set-up with M-Audio FastTrack USB... and the same problems too. I tried to solve the problem for him. In RiffWorks, I couldn't get to the interface settings for M-Audio FastTrack USB through "Audio setup". It was blank, and the signal only routed through to one channel. When I cliked the "HARDWARE" in the monitor pane I could get a stereo sound - but latency was to high to accept. So I tried to install the ASIO4ALL driver and used that instead. This seemed to solve the problem - a bit. Now I could at least adjust the latency settings with the "HARDWARE" option selected. But I wasn't satisfied, so I went to M-Audio's download section and downloaded a fresh driver - uninstalled the previous one - and installed the fresh one. Violá - everything worked... well, It was still in mono when the "HARDWARE" monitoring wasn't on, but it was possible to adjust latency to an acceptable degree. To my opinion and experience the M-Audio FastTrack USB sucks... To be hornest, I thought it was an exelent audio interface untill I tried it.
I hope this somehow helped to get you going. Don't give up!
