Hello,
I was thinking of purchasing a Line 6 KB37. They are basically like a Toneport with a keyboard. I didn't see it on the list of compatability for riffworks. Anyone know if it will work? I may be using it on a PC or Mac, I'm not sure yet, because I haven't decided what to buy.

Thanks!

It's not currently compatible with the Line 6 Edition, though it should work fine with RiffWorks Standard. The keyboard part won't work with RiffWorks, but the TonePort part will work (with Standard).

Thanks for the reply Randy!
One more question. I've been looking around the site but I can't really find out whats different about the Line 6 Edition and the Standard Edition. Is there a difference?

Thanks again.

RiffWorks Line 6 Edition is available from Line 6 as a download at a special price of $99.99: http://line6.com/rifftracker/version20.html

RiffWorks Line 6 Edition is also included in the box with a GuitarPort as GuitarPort RiffTracker, and is available from many dealers for approximately $189 street price: http://www.line6.com/store/hardware.html?modelID=46

RiffWorks Standard is available from Sonoma Wire Works for $129.99: http://www.sonomawireworks.com/store/

RiffWorks Line 6 Edition includes all the same main features as RiffWorks Standard, the same number of free drummers, and the same 60 day free trial of RiffLink. The difference between the two versions is RiffWorks Line 6 Edition works seamlessly with compatible Line 6 devices only (GuitarPort, PodXT, PodXT Live, PodXT Pro, and now TonePort UX1 and UX2), while RiffWorks Standard works with all ASIO and Core Audio devices (including the Line 6 devices listed above). Also RiffWorks Standard includes the IK Multimedia's AmpliTube LE plug-in, while the Line 6 Edition does not.

Thanks Michelle for the reply, I appreciate it.
I don't mean to get to specific here, but what do you mean when you say the Line 6 edition works "Seamlessly"? Will the standard edition not be as "smooth" running with the KB37? Will there be quality differences? I'm just trying to decide what to buy that's going to work best. I like the KB37 because it has an expression pedal output and a keyboard built in, but I would also consider the Toneport UX2.

Thanks again!

UX2 and KB37 are the exact same thing and use the same drivers. But the keyboard is a midi controller whos sounds are triggered by virtual instruments. Riffworks does not do midi. You will still be able to automate patch changes in gearbox to change tones etc and control wah and volume with the expression pedal input while using Riffworks. But like Randy says you wont be able to get any sound from the keyboard, only from plugging in an actual instrument or microphone.

Once again, make sure you're buying RiffWorks Standard, as you can't currently activate RiffWorks Line 6 Edition V2 with the KB37.
