Gain & Pan feature at the bottom of RW2 screen

I just upgraded to RW2 Line6 Edition and finally got everthing working. My only issue now is the gain and pan feature at the bottom of the screen, this feature was above the riff section in RW1. My problem is it does not work, I mean the knobs don't turn and I can't figure out why. I went though the help section and can't find anything on this subject.

Click the red hardware button off ...... you then should see the knobs get brighter and are then active ............
