I am new to the PODxt but a longtime GuitarPort user. Anyway, recording with RWS and the PODxt has been a challenge.

The volume levels between the guitar and instant drummers are radical! I have to set the instant drummer volume very low and the guitar level very high. And even this is an unpleasant sounding compromise at best. In addition, with this setting the “lead in” is ear splitting. This limits the flexibility to tweak a riff.

With the GP, this was never a problem.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Have you tried turning down the Channel Volume? I'm not in front of my PodXT at the moment, but that's all you have to do to mix-in the instrument volume if I recall correctly.

Thanks Randy. The unbalanced volume problem seems to be related to my monitors – not the best for recording. Everything (volume wise) sounds fine with PODxt/RWS through headphones.

I've been lowering the input level for the XT on my Macs Sound Settings tab. I assume, but can't recall, that there's something similar on the PC. This lets me match my XT output to the drummers and to riffs as they are played back from Riffworks.
