Just trying to figure out how to embellish or add to some of the Instant Drummers --- maybe more crashes, backbeats, etc...
Is this possible? maybe layer the Reason patches thru the Rex player setup?
Can you combine Reason drum patches w/ Instant Drummers???

You should be able to play both the Instant Drummers and REX files or a Rewire device at the same time. The trick would be the timing of the embellishments, and also getting them to sound similar to the ID kit you are playing.

It would be easier to manually play the additional crashes and such using a midi controller and rewire to supplement the ID session........but I agree with JJ the matching up of sound and mixing is paramount in making that work.
I have experimented with that in the past and it can work to add little bits of flash in.....but it is tedious at times.
