Can I ask a stupid question?

Can I use Guitar Port with the Riff Works Line 6 Edition? I've upgraded from standard old Riffworks version 1 by buying the v2 upgrade on the Line 6 website and I have it up and running and registered with the extra free drummers that are not with the Riffworks v1 etc - but I've noticed there is no Guitar Port panel to allow me to set the tones and effects of the guitar as per Guitar Port. Have I missed something? Does Riff Works Line 6 Edition (v2 I believe) not support Guitar Port? I've opened Audio Support and the software is recognising the Guitarport as the ASIO device... but I see nowhere I can actually use the guitar port software for providing amps/effects/pedals etc etc.

Please someone help before I pull my hair out...

If it makes any difference I originally bought the guitar port and the riffworks together in the RiffTracker package - have been using v1 of Riffworks very happily over the last 12 months and wanted to upgrade.

Thanks

Gareth

Further to my original post, I've read further down the forum - am I correct in thinking that if I want to use the amps etc that I had in Rifftracker/Riffworks 1 and I now have to open guitarport separately? I was looking for it integrated into the Riffworks Line 6 v2 interface and it is not there. I see someone else had this same problem and the answer seemed to be that the two pieces of software are no longer integrated.

Or am I miles off?

I should also say I think the software itself is fantastic - but I do share other peoples views that it can be fiendishly difficult to get it all working between Line 6, sonoma, the various upgrades etc (and I am very IT literate)

Thanks again

All versions of Riffworks (L6 or Standard) work with GuitarPort.

I think what you’re missing is GearBox - the Line 6 software that allows you to select the amps and effects installed in GuitarPort. Gearbox comes with GuitarPort.

If you haven’t, download and run the L6 Monkey from Line 6 support (its free) with you GuitarPort lined into your computer and follow the directions.

Under the tab at the top of the L6 Monkey “Updates” will show what is missing.

By the way, Gearbox must be open while recording with RiffWorks. Otherwise, you won’t hear any sound – and can’t choose the amps and effects you desire.
