I recently got a POD XT Live and downloaded the demo version of RiffWorks 2 Line6 Edition. I have the POD connected to a USB 2.0 port and set as the playback and record devices on the Audio tab of the Control Panel.

When I launch RiffWorks, I just get an hourglass. I've left it for 30 minutes and nothing happens. GearBox 3.00.1 works fine and so does the GuitarPort software. Line6 Monkey says all my software is up to date.

Do I have to have the switches on the Pod XTLive set to any special positions? It's set on Studio Direct for output mode.

Any suggestions? I'd really love to check this out before actually buying it.

I have a P4 3gig, 512mg RAM, XP Pro, nothing else running when I try to launch it, including ending unnecessary processes in the task manager. I also have a SoundBlaster 24 Live that I disabled.

Thanks!

Anyone? Is this the right place to post this question? I didn't really see any similar Riffworks posts at Line6....

Hi Bobrox, this is probably the right place. It seems like there's been a couple issues like this, though it's usually been something obscure that's caused it.

This thread might be of help, if you can leave it for a good while and see if it comes up eventually this might be the problem. http://www.sonomawireworks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=1472

If not let us know, maybe one of the Sonoma folks can pipe in and help!

Thanks gator.

What I got out of riffer's problem was that it seemed to be a virus...he mentioned about opening something named 'amp' and changing some settings but I don't have that program.

I finally found some time to get virus updates and do a full system scan and no viruses, or spyware, or adware. So glad there's none of that. I do have TotalRecorder on my system that I use to record a radio program's incoming stream while I'm at work, but I disabled that too in the System Control Panel and it still hangs.

Thanks!

Hi bobrox,

We have had a few reports of mysterious hangs (stuck on the hour-glass) with the Line 6 Edition, but we haven't been able to reproduce it here. We are working on an update to the Line 6 Edition. If you would like, we could include you in the beta test to see if our changes have fixed your problem.

thanks,
dug

Hey dug, that would be cool. As it would happen, my day gig is in computers, so if there's anything technical you need me to try or mess around with that would be cool too.

So, yes, please, I'd love to be a part of the Beta...at least I can tell you if it loads or not! :)

Thanks!
