First- I own some DOD drum Cd's that I have used for other programs but they are wave files. They work really good in Live. Now if I purchase some of the cd's from DOD but in rex format is it simple to just drop them into the RW program like I can do in Live? Is it any different than buying the instant drummer add-ons? There is alot more variety if you get a whole cd

second- Can I only listen to my creations throught headphones using my PODXT? If I buy some studio monitors will that allow me to listen through those?

Third- I would like to export my songs/jams into something so I can burn in on a cd. What should I do here?

I bought this program because I needed something simple as you can tell my questions

1. To use the wave files you have in RiffWorks you would need Propellerhead's software called Recycle to convert them to REX files. Then they could be loaded into RiffWork's REX player in the backups section. But if you have Live you could just use the ReWire function and leave the wave files in Live and ReWire Live to RiffWorks. (Open RiffWorks 1st and after it lauches open Live. It will then be ReWired to RiffWorks).

2. Yes ....my PODxtLive is my soundcard anymore and runs into my powered monitors.

3. After you are done with your song go to mix and mix it to wave. From there you can burn it to CD

Instant Drummer is kinda like a "variable" loop as I would put it so it's not like loops as you normally understand them.
If you ReWire Live to RW you will have to tell Live what area or looping area you want assigned to which loops in RW. In Live then you would assign your wave loops to where you want them.
I am having a hard time trying to explain this here, but as you goof with it you'll see what I mean.
ie: Lets say you create a 4 bar loop in RW with Live ReWired to it. On the Live window you'll see the 1st 4 bars have been mapped off as a loop also.
Now lets create a new 4 bar loop in RW. When you look at Live it will still have that same 4 bar area marked off. You will need to drag the bar in Live to a new area (the next 4 bars) to create a new loop in Live. Now when you play the 1st loop in RW the 1st one in Live will loop with it. When you switch to the 2nd loop in RW the bar will move to the new location in Live and loop with it.

btw...I am using the arrangement view in Live in this example

Which Instant drummer or DOD or Drumcore offers the most flexibility for Rock/pop?

Why not run live in rewire mode and sync up to riffworks and use your wave files from there? I think I remember doing this once. *Scratches head
