It rocks....buy it if you can. Try the demo first. It is a stand alone and a VST plugin so it is pretty versitle. The tones are great and some of the effects will blow your m9ind. I have anly spent a few hours with mine but I hope to really get into it soon. Amplitube 2 is also pretty amazing....so many tones....so little time.

Amplitube LE is cool ....Amplitube 2 is WAY better and G Rig 2 is the bomb!!!!!!
But I always come back to GearBox for the simplicity and ease of use..........of course i have all the upgrades.....Collectors Classics , Power Pack, Bass X ETC. etc.
I most always end up using GRig 2 and Amplitube 2 for Bass tones ....important nonetheless..... as well as Ampeg SVX for bass............
but like Bobbo says.....try the demo 1st.......and then decide.

Bass Xpansion is well worth it....it's like having a BassPod......the Line 6 drivers have almost no latency (lag) compared to GRig 2 or Amplitube 2......and the drivers are even better for the TonePort, which I recently upgraded to from GuitarPort.......

GR is flat out amazing but just waaaay more than I need. I've spent more time tweaking than playing.

Mine is brand new, never registered and for sale.

I have the same Line6 upgrades, including the bass expansion pack, as mickeymix. GearBox is great software, which works seamlessly with RiffWorks.

The big advantage for me is being able to reproduce the same tone whether I'm recording or playing live through the PODxt/Atomic Amp.

Admittedly, my experience beyond GB is limited to Amplitube LE.

I've been down all these roads with Guitar Rig 1 and 2, Amplitube LE and now, version 2. Once you get past the initial fun factor it gets old quick. It becomes a distraction from actually playing. I will say that the model packs for GearBox are WELL worth the investment because there are things in there that you just can't get elsewhere. Can I get a "gear aquisition syndrome"? LOL The gains are minimal. Save your money!

blue4u, you raise a good point.

I was creating new material left and right before the holiday season. Then I went on a music equipment buying beige! Now I have all these new toys but my inspiration is fried – gotta get back to basics.
