hi,

For some reason the record, save and mix functions are not working. When i open RIFFWORKS a message appears below:

Activate Now!
---------------------------
RiffWorks must be activated to enable Record, Save and Mix.
Please be sure Network Enabled is checked in the GuitarPort preferences and the computer is connected to the Internet.
Then click Activate to connect to the server.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I have also noticed that when i loaded the RIFFTRACKER cd, one of the requirements did not pass on the requirement list. It stated that the IE SSL failed when everthing else passed.

p.s. this is the riffworks package loaded from a cd. I have not purchased any other add ons.

please help

thanks.

Try connecting to internet and then launch RiffWorks again. If this still fails try http://www.duxcw.com/faq/win/xp/secure.htm and see if their suggestions will help you get IE right

Hi Matt19,

Welcome!

Also, do you have RiffWorks Line 6 Edition version 2? If so, you can follow the instructions here for Activation and Registration:

http://www.sonomawireworks.com/register_line6edition.php

Best,

why do i have to pay money to upgrade, 29.99 ? when all i want to do is to get the software to record.
when i first loaded the rifftracker cd i never had any licence keys and i didnt pay a penny to get started recording its been working fine for 6 months. I didnt know you had to pay upgrades, all i need to do is activate again.

This should apply to me below,

If you purchased RiffWorks with GuitarPort RiffTracker:

Your hardware should already be activated.
Run RiffWorks and it should connect to the internet and activate automatically.

wots going on?

To help with, "It stated that the IE SSL failed when everthing else passed."

You must open IE v(?), Tools---> Internet Options----->Advanced Tab--->then scroll down to the Security area and be sure to have all the SSL versions checked, 2.0 and 3.0

This will show up as passed then. I believe the new IE7 changed the settings for some reason.

You absolutely do not need to pay for the upgrade to get up and running. I just thought you might have version 2 already. Do what dmack said and make sure you're following the appropriate instructions here:
http://www.sonomawireworks.com/guide/index.php/RiffWorks_Line_6_Edition

if you are still having trouble contact our support team and they can help you Monday-Friday.
