hi, i just bought a l6 guitar port riff tracker,

on the cd it says L6+ guitar port v2.5

and RW v1.0

is there any way i can use the guitar port and the effects w/o RW if i have say, garage band or another like that?

i ask because the upgrades and such cost $ just to get to v2 and then there will be v3 etc.

i came here coz the response seems alot better and it's your program.
don't get me wrong, i've heard what people can do with this set-up, it sounds great!

it's just that my wife just told me i can have her mac top and it has all kinds of software for recording and editing, (DOH!)

or can i use RW in conjunction with other programs?

i am not tech literate but i would have plenty support for more involved programs for free.
i'm just wondering if i should put the whole thing in the closet or can i salvage most or all of what i have now.

thank you,
GB

Welcome!

You're in luck - Line 6 is offering a free upgrade to RiffWorks Line 6 Edition (v2) to all customers who bought RiffWorks (v1) after Febrary 2006, so you definitely qualify if you just bought the program.

Dude I believe if you upgrade to Gearbox 3.0(Guitarport free update) and Riffworks V2 you can run them both on a mac. Correct? And yes you can use guitarport with any program.

You just need to upgrade and download the mac installers.

hi it's me again, sorry,

i think i did everything ok except getting the v1 drummers,

i haven't uninstalled v1 yet, till i do.

i found them but they were not in all users, i put them there but can't bring them up to the rw screen.

i tried to import, nope. i'm suprised i got this far.

got the monkey thing and the v2 updates, loaded and installed. the drummers are hard.

i was thinking of just uninstalling everything, v1-v2 and starting all over again.

would i loose my login stuff and will it mess up if i reinstall from square 1?

Hey Fooks,

Take a look at the "Moving InstantDrummers from v1 to v2" information on this page:

You have to load the drummers via RiffWorks.

- Start RiffWorks
- Click the Backups tab
- Select your InstantDrummer
