I have no idea what's going on with RiffWorks and Vista, but remember that everything else you use needs to work with it as well. You guitar modeling software, your audio interface driver, Reason 3.0, your drummerheads drummers...etc. I was looking at the microsoft site today, and there was no mention of how Vista functions for intensive professional applications like audio production. All those extra features it has, I would just turn them off anyway. I'm going to stick with XP for a while.

We have loaded RiffWorks Standard on two machines running Vista (both 32 bit) and it loaded and ran fine.

The one Dan tried yesterday had an Edirol usb interface. It used to have a working ASIO driver under XP, but Microsoft included a driver for this device in Vista, and ASIO stopped working. Vista wouldn't allow loading the old driver since the M$ provided one was newer.

Loading ASIO4All2 worked, not that we advise that as a final solution. I don't know if the new M$ drivers report latency correctly. Which is the biggest problem with using ASIO4All. You don't know how off the drivers are. Of course some ASIO drivers are just as bad:)

The ASIO drivers are going to be the biggest hurdle in getting Vista working. We haven't tried RiffWorks on 64 bit either, but there's no reason that it shouldn't work, as we don't do anything that assumes 32 bit.
