RiffWorks informs me that I need to update my StealthPlug driver to a more recent one. I checked IK's support page and the driver that I have is the current one. What's the deal? I'm not using my GuitarPort very often because I get fewer clicks and less latency using the StealthPlug. Can you light a fire under IK's collective butts. I need that "more recent" driver. ;)

Terry,

At this moment, StealthPlug isn't a recommended ASIO device for RiffWorks. The lack of a recent driver might be one of the reasons behind this.

There are a few people on the forum interested in trying to use one so if it works for you, let us know what you find out.

I'm surprised to hear you say that latency is a problem with GuitarPort. Line6 have done a damn good job at getting it right down to something pretty well undetectable (at least to my ears ;) ) Are you using your GP with the latest GearBox release?
Cheers!
Scott

The latency with GuitarPort and GearBox is fine because of ToneDirect. I tried using the standalone NI Guitar Combos and IK Multimedia Amplitude 2 Live and I get better results with the StealthPlug. Same thing with Tracktion 2.1 and Ableton Live Lite.

I contacted IK Multimedia and they directed me to my download page which had the same driver that I am already using. I then contacted them again explaining this and the customer service rep replied that he would look into this and get back to me. That was over a week ago. I noticed on IK's StealthPlug site that 44 kHz is now mentioned. I hope this is a software thing. Or did they redesign the hardware?

StealthPlug Features

Nevermind.

I just rechecked my IK download page. The new StealthPlug driver is up!

The StealthPlug now works flawlessly for me with RiffWorks Standard, Tracktion 2.1 (which it comes with), Reaper, Podium and Ableton Live.

Hey Terry,

Sorry I missed this thread when you first posted. I had the new driver before IK released it. So I was able to put that note into RiffWorks in case people tried to use it with the old driver that didn't work. But we shipped it before they shipped the new driver. Pretty funny.

I still need to add it to the recommended hardware list. It sounds good to me and works well, but I need an odd-ball cable combination to get the latency loop-back test results done.

cheers,
