I can launch RW, but it seems to hang, saying "loading drummer part, Matt Sorum-basic". I have no access to any controls because of the perpetual hourglass at this point of the start up. I am using an M-Audio Firewire 410 interface.
Any ideas? and I am very grateful for any help offered. I downloaded the Demo version first, just in case something like this might happen.
I am using this on a new (pretty high powered) Dell running Windows XP Pro.
Thank you,
Steven G

Hi Steven,
Welcome to the RiffWorks forum!

I'm wondering if the the download has been corrupted in some way.

Try unistalling the demo, re-downloading and installing again to see what happens.
Cheers!
Scott

Thank you, Scott. I downloaded it twice and installed and re-installed it... but it still hangs... now it hangs when "loading metronome: Hi cowbell".
I am clueless as to what to do.
I am grateful for your help.

Could you try and do a scan of your computer to check for viruses, spyware and generally anything nasty that might be in there?

A couple of other people have had similar trouble and found that a good clean up seemed to help.

Let us know how you get on.
Cheers!
Scott

Thanks, Scott. Eventually, after a few more downloads, re-installs and reboots, I was able to get it to work. I am very new to this software and can now try it out.
Thank you for answering my posts and helping me out.

Steve,

You'll find that this forum is something of a model support network when it comes to people helping others out - and that will include the guys from Sonoma themselves who monitor these threads regularly.
Everyone is very helpful and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to post them.

PS Glad to hear you got RW going. Look forward to hearing your end results!
