When I upgraded a while back i got line 6 edition. I dont know the real difference or which is better. I see the standard has free downloads with the new undate, but line 6 edtion doesn't, Why? Can someone give me some quick compare and contrast of these?

The main difference is that the Line6 version means you can only use it with Line6 devices like GuitarPort, TonePort, POD etc.

The 'Standard' edition lets you use other ASIO devices (see the approved hardware list on the Support webpage) as well as the Line 6 ones.

As regards which is 'better', it's all down to what you want I suppose. I've only ever used the 'Standard' version. It seems to be easier to install and, as I say, it has greater flexibility.
'Best of both worlds' probably sums it up.
Cheers!

RiffWorks Line 6 Edition doesn't come with the AmpliTube 2 Live software (was AmpliTube LE).

Thanks, that helps a lot. Now I still have both versions on my computer, can I update and use both so I can get this free software offered with the Standard?

Can previous owners upgrade to Amp2Live? I don't see it in my account.

Ok I found it. This is grrreat because Amp 2 Live is about 100 times better than Amp Live. Alot of the goodies are there from the full version but no rack effects and multiple signal chains. Sweet.

Hi macvoodoo,

AmpliTube 2 Live is for RiffWorks Standard owners only. I don't see macvoodoo as an owner of that version, but it is possible that you used a different user ID to purchase it.

If you own RiffWorks Standard, make sure to login to your store account using the SonomaKey user ID and password that you used to purchase and activate that version. You should find the AmpliTube 2 Live plug-in and serial number downloads in the downloads area of your store account. If you have further trouble with this, please email support directly:

Thanks,
Michelle

Are ther any limitations to which drummers you can use depending on if you are running Line6 or Standard?

Can I run both on the same machine?

I've both installed on my laptop, but only Line6 will run. Standard comes up, but goes into an infinite wait mode with the hourglass icon and never completes initialization. What's up with that?

Yes, you should be able to.

Can't see much need for the Line6 edition if you've got Standard. I'd ditch the Line6 one, see if that frees up the Standard. If not, uninstall and try reinstalling RWS.
There are others out there with both versions installed on one machine so I'm not sure where the conflict, if any, lies. Have you managed to register your RWS version?
Cheers!
