Help needed with compression

I've done 3 new tracks. (one will probably be entered in the rumble this weekend).

I have a general problem with all my recordings. They seem to be murdered with compression. I have none on any instruments or the vocals, & I keep all the levels down on each part of each riff.

What am I doing wrong ??? Is it the master volume on my final mix to riff ??
