still not working right urgent help needed

ive updated my pc to pentium 4 3.0ghz today got 1 1/2 gb ddr ram and still got problems with standard.also 107gb free on hard drive.when im recording the levels meter next to audio setup [bottom right hand corner of standard] ends up on the middle of the layers page.its broken up with bits missing.any ideas guys as ive just spent $227 dollars today updating my pc and im p**sed well and truely off.cheers

Hi riffer, just to clarify is it just the graphics that are messing up or is it not recording as well?

hi gatorjj how are you? its the graphics.the meter down the bottom right hand corner of standard[clip] ends up when im recording in the layer section.i did switch all the effects on at one time and recorded it and it crashed.obviously i would have everything running like that as a rule

cheers guys i need cheering up big time.randys on the case now.i do think its my sis661fx video card.i was over the moon to get pentium 4 3.0ghz,thought my problems were solved.i dont do things by half !!!! cheers for support .
