So i updated RW and i when i opened it it ask for a key or something. i put it in and it was good. so i then proceeded to my recordings and at the end of the night when i was gonna save my work its said,"Demo Mode: to save or mix RW must be activated. go to line6.com to learn more!" i was immediately pissed of because not only will i not be able to save my work but i thought that RW was already activated and i'm afraid i might have to buy a freaking key! luckly when i opened RW today it recovered the old work that i couldnt save but now its happening again! Any suggestions?! thanx

Hi,

Sorry for the frustration. Did you update anything else at the same time as RiffWorks? Updating should not have lost your Line 6 activation.

The SonomaKey is the registration info RiffWorks needs to load the drummers purchased from Sonoma Wire Works. Not being able to save or mix is the demo mode that RiffWorks is not activated in your Line 6 hardware.

Please launch the Line 6 Monkey and look to see if RiffWorks (version 2 features) has a check mark next to it in the Optional Add-ons tab.

Also take a look at the updates tab and make sure you're running the latest drivers and GearBox versions.

If it all looks good and the problem persists, please let me know.

thanks,

Hey, Dugg. Well i didnt update anything else while updating RW. i checked the Line6 monkey and i had to update the drivers and Gearbox and RW. But is it really necessary to update RW and Gearbox if i dont use them? last time i updated RW it gave me the old version and it showed up on my desktop while i had RW version 2 next to it. i also checked the optional add-ons and RW version 2 was checked. any further advice? thanx

Updating GearBox will give you all the latest, greatest drivers, monkey, etc.

You don't need to update RiffWorks from the Monkey if you just got the 2.1 update from us. They don't have 2.1 in their version system yet. So you'd just get the old 2.0 installer anyway.

If you have the latest drivers and stuff all installed, launch RiffWorks and click Save. If it still says it's in demo mode, try going to the Monkey and click Activate Purchase, then type "refresh" without the quotes in the box.

Please contact our support directly if it still doesn't work and we'll proceed from there.

I'm trying to riffcast one of my songs and it gives me that you have to register with Sonoma Wireworks. I ran Line 6 Monkey and clicked on active purchase and type refresh without the quotes. The activation was successful but I'm still getting "Launch Broswer " signal to tell me to register. I am already registered with Sonoma Wireworks with a user name and a sonoma key.

Hi RLW,

Try launching RiffWorks and clicking on the RiffLink button at the top of Riff Recorder panel. This should bring up a Sonoma Key login with Username and Password. What appears in the Username box? If it says "Unregistered", you'll need to login with your Sonoma Key login and password.

If you've forgotten your password, you can retrieve it here:

I hope this helps. Feel free to contact Sonoma Suppport at:
