Hi,

Got excited about trying the demo but all it does is lock up and freeze my pc !
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no different.

It locks up after loading and just hangs with the 'egg timer' on the cursor. I have to use task manager to close it.

Anyone got any ideas ?

Thanks

What spec of machine do you have? If you know the chipset that may also help.
Cheers!

Thanks scott,

Core 2 duo T5500 laptop INTEL 945GM chipset.
Had no problems with amplitube demo and other demos from other manufacturers.

Could it be a conflict with another guitar based program ?

Gutted !
Its my behringer usb audio driver, this means I cannot use riffworks with my usb guitar. It works with Amplitube though.

Oh well, if it doesnt work with my usb guitar (which is excellent) then the software is no good to me.

sorry to here your driver is not compatible. i have always enjoyed beringer products
good quality at a low cost.
i have looked at the adverts for your guitar and wondered how well it would work. before it came out i went with line 6.
i'm sure beringer will come out with a new driver riffworks is the most awsome prograhm i have found for recording. until i started useing it i had no interest in computor recording.
now i don't even use all my studio gear. i'm sorry your missing out.

Ditto to what 345 says .....I have all the DAW's that you can have but use only Riffworks it's that good!
I would still get it myself and hope a newer driver comes out for the USB guitar soon, but meanwhile use a regular 1/4 inch guitar til then.....give it a whirl , you won't be disappointed with it.
Plus there's a great community of players here at the forums and in RiffLink.
.
.....hope ya stay..............Mike/Mickey

I unistalled the behringer usb driver from the registry manually and then reinstalled and its now working with riffworks with zero latency.

All I need to do now is learn how to get some good tones out of riffworks, unfortunately I dont like any of the presets.

After using my usb guitar I will never plug a guitar into a pc in any other way because I get the lowest latency with this thing, way lower than the new 'asio for all' drivers.

Anyone got any tips for some good rock sounds with riffworks ?

Thanks

Are you using the Amplitube Live plugin?
Cheers!

Do you mean the amplitube 2.1 demo or the amplitube live demo ?

Thanks

If you are using RiffWorks Standard you get Amplitube Live with it.
Cheers!

Hi Mick,

RiffWorks Standard comes with Amplitube Live 2. You should be able to get some pretty awesome tones out of that. The RiffWorks demo does not come with any amp modeling software, but you could get the Amplitube Demo from IK Multimedia and try it out.

To use VST plugins for amp modeling, follow these steps:

1) Launch RiffWorks

2) Click on the HARDWARE button in the MONITOR section at the bottom of RiffWorks.

3) Click on the EFFECTS button. The EFFECTS panel will pop up.

4) Click on AMP at the top left of the panel and select your VST plugin of choice.

5) Click the check box next to AMP.

You may need to adjust the buffer settings of your audio interface to reduce latency. To do this, click the AUDIO SETUP button in the bottom right hand corner of RiffWorks.
