rw2.1 and live light 6 no rewire

thanks got the upgrade but the rewire does not work with live light 6.
works with live4.its the same in cubase.(6 no 4 yes)
been using ez drummer to make some loops but plugins dont work if live is rewired to rw,so you can turn them into wave and run them in live4.

wish rw could import wave and export layers as wave

Are you saying that Ableton disabled rewire for their lite version? Or there is a problem with it? I have 4 installed and have not upgraded. If this is the case maybe I shouldn't.

You can try Reaper for 30 days it works with rewire, and is $40 to purchase a liscense. Unexpiring shareware.

you could have hit the nail on the head.but i needed the live light 6 drag and drop to bring in ez drummer midi.will have alook at reaper to see if it supports drag and drop.
does anyone know if live light 6 as rewire.

I have not used any midi with Reaper, but I know you can drag and drop files right into it. Please post back if you have success with EZ drummer and Reaper into Riffworks.

I have checked out reaper, it's a lot of software for not much money, good manual and lots of features but unfortunately it didn't seem to like easy drummer v1.04 and for some reason it wouldn't rewire as slave with riffworks 2.1, if you could get it to rewire in slave mode it would be a great daw to go with riffworks. Thought I would put another post of the forum to see if anyone is using easy drummer with live or reaper. One thing, instant drummer always works.

It does rewire in slave mode, you just have to go to start/all programs/reaper/rewire slave mode.

I don't know much about midi yet, but when I dropped a midi file into reaper inslave mode, I didn't get any audio from it. Might have to switch to soundcard instead of Toneport since it doesnt handle midi.

thanks again guitar slinger need to be more at home with reaper.
working ok now,just missing the 1st kick on a straight 8bar loop
when in rewire slave could be a snap setting but ok in normal playback.

This confirms my belief that ReWire slave mode was ON in Live Lite 4 and has been disabled in Live Lite 6. There is no information published about this by Ableton or Line 6. Seems pretty slimy to me to take away features in an upgrade.
