How are you getting the audio from the guitar into your mac mini?

Also, since you are on an intel chip, you should be using RW 2.x

the demo is avail on this site, see if it works for you, I'm sure there is an upgrade price....

Thanks for the reply!

When I got the Riffworks it came with a Guitarport with a USB cable, so that should work if the software works.

Yes thanks I will look for v 2 and see if I can get an upgrade.

Not to be greedy, but I should be able to use the Riffworks both on my old XP laptop as well as on the Mac mini for one license, right?

I think that if you purchased after feb 06, you get the v2 upgrade free, according to the link below...check it out

http://line6.com/rifftracker/version20.html

as far as using RW on 2 computers, I think that you need to have the guitarport hooked up to whichever computer you are trying to launch it on, I think the hw acts as a dongle for the sw....

I just got a ux1 this afternoon, so I'm by no means an expert, but I saw something in the gearbox manual about transferring authorizations, i.e. 1 license on > 1 computer...

maybe one of the moderators can give you a definitive answer?

Otherwise, check the pdf that comes with gearbox...hth

Hello Daveseto,

You will need to get either RiffWorks Line 6 Edition version 2 or RiffWorks Standard in order to use it on your mac mini. The difference between the two programs is mainly that the Line 6 Edition only allows you to use your Line 6 interface. RiffWorks Standard allows you to use your Line 6 interface and any other core audio device.

If you've purchased RiffWorks version 1 after February of 2006, within a year and two months ago, you're entitled to a free upgrade. If you did not, there is upgrade pricing available for you.

You'll also be able to run the software on multiple computers. If you have the Line 6 edition, you'll have to have the Guitarport attached to whatever computer you're using at the time.

You do not need to transfer license keys. That is for owning mulitple Line 6 devices and wanting to use one device over another and then switch back and forth.

With RiffWorks Standard, you would not need to transfer license keys.

I hope this helps.
