When I close down RWS it takes a good 4 or 5 seconds to exit because it says it's "Stopping Rewire".
I don't have any Rewire devices and I don't have it checked in the 'Backup' tab. I don't even have to have loaded any songs - just launch and close does the same thing.
I've only really become aware of this in the past week or so. Is this something anyone else has noticed?
Cheers!
Scott

I get that from my new Toneport UX2 Scotty, never seen it whilst using my POXT.

Plus every time I open my mouth to sing into my extremely close microphone a weird noise comes out, any idea what that could be ???

Hey Bill.....mine does it with the xtLive. I am thinking that now since you said you see it with your TP UX2, that maybe it is since the drivers have been updated....??

I don't remember it doing this with RW version 2.0

Yeah, the UX2 seems to be a common factor.
Cheers!

Dunno, I haven't changed any software since I bought UX2, didn't install gearbox or Toneport etc as I already had it onboard. So by my reckoning it's got to be the UX2 drivers in my case as that's the only thing that's different.

Aha, just thought, that last lot is bollox maybe. The UX2 came bundled with Ableton Live Lite 5, is that the culprit ? Plus, of course, UX2 is a new boy's toy I played with after my TV crew left..............HaHa and I haven't plugged the POD back in to see if it does it on there now.

Watch this space, I might be able to buttonhole it down to the UX2 drivers by trying the POD as is and then removing Ableton, as long as the uninstall removes the drivers and dll's for that maybe.

I bought the UX2 to try and get better quality vocals, along the lines of what you were saying elsewhere Scotty. Im using a couple of vintage SM 58's that cost a fortune in their day, have done a thousand gigs and are still better quality than the new one I bought a couple of years ago. Made in China now, I suppose. It peeved me a bit to see you asking the questions about the UX2 on the same day I plugged mine in !!! I've got to see that surveyor bloke you were on about to get some XLR leads or maybe get some online from Butlins....HaHa

I went for the gold plated connectors. It's only a 1.5m cable but that saves me tripping over the wire.
Cheers!

It's definately the Ableton Live app. for me.
It installs a ReWire.dll in the System32 directory.
I uninstalled it and RWS closes immediately now.
Cheers!

Oh yeah....if you're not going to use ReWire that should take care of it by axing the dll.
I thought RiffWorks also installed a ReWire dll. ???

I Never installed the Ableton APP that came with my UX2 and I get the stopping ReWire thing as well so my guess is the UX2's drivers......but so it takes an extra second or 2 to shutdown..........I'll live with it..........

I guess you could go into the system32 folder if you don't want the ReWire dll. Mickey.......like Scott did. Ya could always get it from Propellerheads if ya wanted it back later on.
But like I said before...I thought RW installed the ReWire dll. also.
Guess one of the Sonoma people will have to set us straight on this.

I never use to see this "stopping rewire" until after the RW update or maybe it was the L6 driver update. ????
Doesn't really bother me though.
