Adam,
From the Line6 Monkey, which drive is it saying has the PIO problem? If it's your CD/DVD drive, it's not an issue.
If you highlight the PIO problem in the Monkey and click 'Support' it takes you to the Line6 support page. Here's what someone's posted there ...
All of your computer's IDE/ATAPI Drives should be in DMA mode.
(Adam, note it says "IDE/ATAPI drives", ie. your hard disk, not the CD/DVD)
By default, Windows often configures IDE Hard Drives and IDE/ATAPI CD-ROM's to use PIO (Programmed Input/Output) mode. Unfortunately, this mode is slow and very processor-intensive, and can interfere with Tone Core's audio stream (as well as slowing your computer down anyway).
It is preferable to configure your Hard Drives and CD-ROM's to use DMA (Direct Memory Access) mode. This offers better performance with less CPU usage. You should check your drives' users manuals prior to changing this setting to make sure they support DMA mode. Some older drives that do not support DMA mode properly and may corrupt data if you attempt to use DMA mode.
To configure your drives to use DMA mode under Windows 2000:
Click on the Start button, and select Settings->Control Panel.
Double-Click the System icon.
Select the Hardware tab, and press the Device Manager button.
Select the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers tree and open it.
Check each IDE channel to make sure the Transfer Mode is set to DMA if available.
You must reboot your machine if you make changes to these settings.
To configure your drives to use DMA mode under Windows XP:
Click on the Start button, and select Settings->Control Panel.
Double-Click the System icon.
Select the Hardware tab, and press the Device Manager button.
Select the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers tree and open it.
Right Click each IDE channel and choose properties.
Choose the advanced settings tab.
Make sure the Transfer Mode is set to DMA if available.
You must reboot your machine if you make changes to these settings.
To configure your drives to use DMA mode under Windows 98/ME:
Click on the Start button, and select Settings->Control Panel.
Double-Click the System icon.
Select the Device Manager tab.
Select each IDE drive or CD-ROM drive and hit Properties
Go to the Settings tab on the device and ensure that the DMA box is checked.
You must reboot your machine if you make changes to these settings.
I hope this helps!
