Has RiffWorks opened any doors for you?

There have been a few posts recently about the life changing properties which RiffWorks has bestowed on many of its users - genuinely life changing events.
I wanted to share my recent good fortune just to show how a pleb like me can have a door or two opened by something as simple as music and a couple of pieces of software.
I'm currently writing with someone about to release her first full CD and we're shoving demos together to put in front of the record company so that they'll fund the re-recording.
The main point is that RiffWorks a) gave me the vehicle to produce / write the songs and b) produced a high enough quality of demo to get management interested.
I don't want to say too much more until things are over the next few hurdles. The songs may not get chosen to be on the CD but, as the post title says, it's opened some doors and for that I am eternally grateful.
Thank you Sonoma, thank you friends and fellow RiffWorks disciples. Watch this space!
Cheers!
Scott

It's because of RiffWorks I got back into recording, started helping people with their stuff, started a small business, and got my family and friends excited about making music, none of which I ever planned on. I'm hoping my doors are still in front of me though :)

Sounds exciting Scott, can't wait to see how it turns out!

This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker!

'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies!
'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig!
'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!!

THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!

BTW, which end do you hold and which end do you hit the drums with?
Cheers!

I could go into a rather long post here.....so I won't.
However I must say that one of the doors opened for me has been meeting and making friends with some really great people here. It don't really get much better than that in the long run.

Not sure which end of pigeon to use, I suppose if it was a chicken instead I'd use the drumstick part.

Sorry Scotty, my mistake, when you're concentrating on doing a clever sounding drum solo with a dead parrot and you're not sure which end to play it with, I've discovered I can't tell the difference between the arse end of a parrot and that of a pigeon. Well not just any old pigeon, it's the one I was gonna send Michelle painted with a green back but I ran outta green paint and had to paint it white. Turns out pigeons don't run on unleaded paint and the poor thing has snuffed it as well.

There is some good news though I had it stuffed and mounted in a case with a big plaque underneath, it says

"Una Sonoma Blanca" (Deceased)

I was gonna write a song about it but somebody beat me to it and they locked him up so I thought I'd give it a miss.

Uncle J.O.KING !!!!
