i have to say that i am so blown away by what happened to me when i got my podxt live and riffworks up and running! first though a little background, i'm 35 last time i played i was 18 lol garage band you know.... anyways, so i get hooked up and set a drum beat and push record.. started messin round with just simple chords and didnt realize i had not set the length of the riff yet , so they keep layering. anyways i ended up naming the riff OMFG! because when i played it back i had 4 layers playing simutainiously and wow, it was just a freak thing but sounds like it fits so well together and came right off a big label. but it def got me syked. just some props to sanoma here, excellent ez to use and understand product... it's like instant musician, just add riffworks. Excellent!!:)

Hi Nickelbag and welcome to the RiffWorks family home!
You're now officially one of the 'brothers'. You have to share the bedroom with Mickey but don't sleep on the bottom bunk - he'll tell you that you have to buy everyone a beer then drink it all himself! ;)
Then there's the 'triplets' (we call 'em the 3Ds - Dan, Dug & Dave) who have a room to themselves in the attic somewhere and the sensible sister - Michelle, who speaks German, steals Ferraris and whose birthday it is soon!
Don't forget everyone's favourite 'Uncle' - Bill, who lives out in the yard beside the trash cans (or "bins" as he calls them!)
Tim and I wait out front beside the mailbox and jump on the mailman before he delivers the junk mail and spam (although Unckie Bill doesn't like it when we get rid of 'spam').
We're one big happy family really and we've got lots more brothers, sisters and cousins out there, so welcome!
Cheers!
Scott

Precisely why you don't want to be on the bottom bunk when nature calls ;)

Welcome! If the addiction gets too bad, try to hang in there. There are so many self-proclaimed junkies. And I am certain there are many more still in denial, telling themselves, "I can stop recording any time I want.", as they are tuning up!

I plan on starting a RiffWorks/RiffLink/Riffcaster Anonymous (RA) support group this fall.

One more thing, these forums are no place for the humor impaired.

Hey Nickelbag,

You think you're hooked already, don't speak too soon boyo you probably don't know what hooked means yet

It's right what's bein said about Mickey so be warned. Plus he's just bought my old fart brother Strat's green Strat so be prepared to have your ears blasted and keep your hands on your beer money.

I look forward to your posts mate and meetin' up on Rifflink when you're ready.

Uncle Bill.

P.S. Be prepared for a miserable supply of Spam as our "Moderator and Rockerator" people snaffle it away before you get a look in and you'll probably have to make do with corned beef. Here's a way to recognise 'em, Scotty wears hot pants and sings falsetto !!! (I think he has Mica Bollox maybe) and Tim wears funny hats so you won't recognise him....see ? Oh yeah, and neither of them sit down as they both play their arses/ass's off.....
No-one remembers what you do or say. Everyone remembers how you made them feel. Allegedly !!!!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, bluesyDude is our RiffWorkaholics Anonymous Chaplain of the Spotlight so be a good boy and you might get your name in lights.......

I, on the other hand, am the local rubbish bin operative and have recently been voted Captain of the Mumbo Jumbo !!!!

So you're in good hands over there in Iraq mate, any trouble and Bluesy and Uncle Bill will sort it for ya.

Uncle Bill

P.S. Make an allowance for Scotty not knowing the difference between bins and cans (he's a non-sassenach you see) this is why he's permanently pissed.......

Just explain to the wife that it's a really good deal cause you getting 25 instruments in one :) and with being able to switch between the Martin and the Banjo you'll finally be able to do the Dueling Banjos Tune ...I love my 700

I do know that spam comes in cans, not bins - although Uncle Bill wishes it did!

Wedgebill wrote:(he's a non-sassenach you see) this is why he's permanently pissed.......

Is this "pissed" as in the US version - 'pissed off'; or "pissed" the UK version - guttered, merak, drunk, steaming, blootered etc.?

And may I politely point out that "sassench" is a term to describe someone from the 'lowlands' (as opposed to the 'highlands') and living, as I do, in south east Scotland I am, technically speaking, a sassenach. I do not wish this to have any bearing on my priviledge, nay 'right', to be "permanently pissed", as my learned friend so eloquently described. :P
Cheers!

Sorry again Mr Scotty of Brodie I shoulda done more homework, having met the real Brodie of Brodie in Brodie Castle some years back I shoulda remembered. I do distinctly remember he wore a kilt and probably wasn't wearing hotpants underneath, who can tell though ay ? He didn't sing anything so not sure if he was a falsetto sassenach or not. =)

I was under the impression that having got confused between bins and cans you were filling your rubbish bins with whisky and this was why you were permanently pissed (as in UK plastered etc ) Did I slip up here as well ? :/

If I did get this wrong as well I'm now pissed (as in USA pissed off) because I just ordered a 600 mile long straw to help you drink some of the whisky. Coulda saved my money if you'd let me know before. You got any suggestions as to what I could do with it when it turns up ? :P

Uncle Bill

P.S. Have a quiet word with Michelle for me will ya, I tried to do a trade off with a Spam salesman today. I was swappin' Viagra, penis extensions and breast enlargements for an excess of green paint, dead pigeons and parrots but got moderated before the deal was finished. This leaves me on the old diet of corned beef, aspirins, little winkles and tiny titbits and I'm getting pissed off with that too..........

By my reckoning, if you point your straw in a roughly southerly direction, you should be somewhere in the Bordeaux region of France. A nice, fruity, full-bodied red should suit you.
Either that or you send me half and we drink the Yorkshire Dales dry!! :)
(And I would drink 300 miles, and I would slurp 300 more .... :D)
Cheers!
