I've been wanting one of those epi copies for I dunno how long. Since back in the nineties when I saw the cool transparent finishes they were putting on them (purple, green, root beer, etc). I played a couple and they sounded great. I ended up instead finding a good deal in my local guitar center (the one my wife was working in at the time) on a univox LP copy with some GORGEOUS inlay on it. I ended up selling that one eventually, with even COOLER looking shell adorning it. There are some that would say that I tend to go a little overboard when it comes to shell. I'm not really sure where they get these notions.

Dammit Mikey!

Now I gotta go and buy another friggin guitar! Just went and read up on them. Hadn't seen the Elitist yet. Even at the price they're pulling new (about a grand) they look like a really sweet deal. The gold on arctic white is my favorite I think.

Not gonna do it here because of the exchange rate £'s to $'s but when I get to live in Florida and go looking for a guitar to complement my Line6 Pod XT live, not instead of but as well as my Telecaster Custom and Guild Acoustic/Electric, should I be looking at a Variax 600 or 700, or maybe the new Strat with modelling stuff in it, or summat completely different like BluesyDude's stuff ?

Does the Variax 700 do anything more than the 600 or is is just the same guitar with a different paint job etc ?

Will I like the feel and action of a Variax after my Telecaster which has been lowered etc ?

I think I would need to play in sunglasses if I got all the shell stuff that Beau likes
