Just updated gearbox and now no guitarport!!!!!!!

Hey folks,
Its been a while since I've been around, been real busy at work. Any way I just got around to updating gear box tonight and now I have no guitar port!!!
Any help appreciated and thanx ahead of time.

GearBox IS GuitarPort (well software-wise) - just updated so that one interface works with all of the Line6 hardware. Load GB, plug in your GP and it should work fine.

Thanks for the reply but thats not quite the problem. I understand that guitar port is gear box, but now that I have updated to 3.10 it does not work at all. all I have is the red light.

Try a couple of things.

1) Make sure you download the latest Line6 Monkey (1.16). It will make sure you have all of the latest software/driver versions.

2) Unplug and replug in your GP.

Hi Hemoglator,

Scott's advice is spot on. I'll just add that if that doesn't work, use the Line 6 Monkey to confirm that your GuitarPort's firmware is also current.

Hey Scott & Randy,
I do have monkey 1.6 and it says every thing is up to date.
Everything was working just fine with gearbox 3.0 then when I updated to 3.10 now I have a red light. I had it unpluged from usb when updating,pluged and re-pluged,restarted my computer several times all to no avail. Any other Ideas?

Hi Bryan,

Sounds like you've done everything correctly. You should be able to go to Add/Remove programs in the Windows Control Panel and remove the 3.1 drivers to revert to the 3.0 drivers. Give that a try and see if it works again.

You may need to contact Line 6 directly to see if they have any ideas about what's going on here. If you do that, please report back here and let us know what's going on.

Dont know if this will help..but i had a problem after updating to the 3.10 version..the 3.10 driver was downloaded but not installed,,dont know why..i went where the driver was[some folder?] and clicked install..everything worked fine after that..maby this might help..

Thanks for your responses, I finnaly went to the device manager and reinstalled the drivers and now am up and running!!!! YEAAAAA!!!!!!

Good job. Don't forget that you can use Amplitube Live amp models with RWS too. I find that using both for recording makes a great mix as they each have very distinctive tones.

Go to the Store and log in....Click My Account.....click view or download software..............it should be under your downloads........download and install .....enjoying the appropriate beverages....
