I appreciate the help. I have several tunes I can improve upon if I can get them imported into RW Standard. I'm fairly computer literate but have struggled with this one.

jimmiboy,

Rats............I totally forgot about this thread. Sorry.
Did you ever get this worked out???
My songs are saved in documents/sonoma wire works/songs
There is a 2nd folder documents/riffworks/songs .....( I think this folder is a leftover from version 1).
Anyhow.....I would say that your songs are saved in different folders somewhere. Try maybe a search for them. Good luck

BTW.....Rick Wakeman hey :)..........love YES

Thanks, this gives me a place to start.

I saw YES in Tampa, FL during their 2004 35th Anniversary World Tour. They were never better and played a 3 hour show. This was captured on their "Songs from Tsongas" DVD. If you haven't seen it it's well worth the purchase cost.

Yeah....got it. Great DVD. Such a positive group and extremely talented.

Said to myself if Steve is using a Variax 700 in his line up then it most definitely good enough for me.

On finding your songs you should be able to open each version and make a dummy song and hit save. You don't really need to save the dummy song but it should show you which folder you are saving the songs too. I hope this can help ya out. Good Luck

Got the song import issue resolved. I did a search for Riffworks and the search located each individual file. I saved each song from RW Line 6 version to my desktop and opened them individually. They all opened in RW Standard. I then did a "Save as" on each song. They are now in the "Songs" folder in the new version and remain in the same folder in RW Line 6. It does take up some hard drive space as you now have the files saved twice, once in each program. Sort of the long way around but it worked.

Thanks for the help.

Hey Jim, when you save a song file in either version of Riffworks it will use the last folder you saved into as the default. This means you can pull all your stuff into the same place and either delete the others to recover hard drive space or put them somewhere safe and tidy to use as backups. You don't need to have them laying around all over the place, especially on your desk top, this can slow your computer down. You can also use the dropdown box that appears when you save in RiffWorks as a standard Windows Explorer pane, right click on a clear area, make a new folder, rename it, that sort of stuff. For example, I clear my stuff up and put my finished stuff in a finished songs folder, leave the stuff I'm working on in a folder called Misc, that sort of thing, same as you can with Windows Explorer using cut or copy and paste etc.

P.S. I then put 99.9% of my stuff in a folder called "Crap".....................

Bill, sounds like you have as many folders as you do dust bins. Are the folder's different colors?

Great idea. I do the same sort of thing, /Riffs, /WIP, /Posted, etc.

P.S. I'm still working out how to do a green back one for dead pigeons !!!
