Can you edit loops on Riffworks?

Specifically, I'm looking to cut a few empty bars from the end.

You can't split and cut a layer or riff. You can do a fade or complete volume drop in the layer by using the info button and draging the volume down.

I'd recommend using a third party audio converter like 'Audacity'. It's free and it will let you chop bits out to your heart's content!
Tim's right about being able to do it from within 'RiffWorks' but it's fiddly if you have to do it on lots of layers in the final riff.
With 'Audacity' you save your song out of 'RiffWorks' into a .wav or .ogg file, load it in to 'Audacity', click and drag over the whole wave form that you want to take out and then just 'cut' it. You can also fade out as well.
Other converters like 'Reaper' are good too.
