It would be really nice if when adding or removing a riff from the song bar, the amount of timewould also be inserted or deleted from the song layer. This would keep the recorded sound in the song layer synced to the riffs it was recorded to. Hope this makes sense to everyone and is also possible! Also, the box version of RW standard should be packaged in a 6-pack of beer, that would encourage us L6 version users to crossgrade.

the biggy must be exporting multiple track wav's out, then you could start to use it as a serious tool for composition

Yes, multiple track wav's out would really make Riffworks the ideal composition front end to going on to a 'serious' sequencer. Also an option to individually and in bulk render riffs to wave files would be excellent, allowing samplists in particular to really expand its potential (also great for hard disk recordists too of course). Still, its simplicity is its truly beautiful feature and I would'nt want to clutter it, but these would be simple off-line improvements that would not congest the work suface at all.

Higher bit rate riffcasting, ogg supposedly compresses better than mp3, but an mp3 encoded at 128 kbps sounds better than the current quality of riffcast songs. 128 kbps is the standard for Soundclick free accounts but paid users encode at 320 kbps.

All good suggestions. We're listening.

As for the RiffWorks hats, you can get hats, stickers, and different T's here:

Thank you for not putting the silly looking "jumping guitarist" on the cap!

What I would like to see in future versions:
- multiple wav exports
- a BIG CLOCK !
- midi remote control, at least for the layer gain controls, delete and mute buttons.
- MTC support (master)
- ogg, mp3 or wav import. (dump the rex) OR someone fix Flstudio or Reaper Rewire (I only get Rewire to work with Reasondemo)

But still, Riffworks is a great software ! Reckon that I've been recording in the past with two openreel taperecorders: recording on one and playing the same tape on another one a few meters away to get a delay of a certain time, then adding and re-recording both signals, etc...

I would like to be able to copy a Riff Layer to another Riff.
The clock would be nice too.
A song preview on the website for RiffLink projects.
Easy Download of Rifflink project to hard drive.
ogg, mp3 or wav import to Riff
Some more Effects Presets for Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums, ect... These effects confuse the hell out of me.
Export Riff to Wav.
Check out some of my Tunes on My Space and send me a friend request.

I would really like to have the ability to generate sheet/tab music from the recording. To do this would be as simple as creating layered midi files that could be exported and then imported into a tool like pro guitar 5.

If riffworks had the ability to import and export midi files then this would also solve a lot of requests related to bringing additional drum sounds and keyboards into the song.

As far as the requests about the songlayer, what we have found is that the best way to do this is to create hybrid riffs. We combine a couple loops, record a songlayer, and then save that as a riff that can be brought into another song file, but that takes a lot of extra steps, and does not totally solve the songlayer problems. Ideally a songlayer should be its own object and then have the ability to lay it on the song whereever you want. In other words the bar where we drag and drop our riffs to create a song would have two rows instead of just one. The first row would work just as it does today, and the second row would display songlayer tracks. This would allow us to record one or more songlayers and then adjust their relative location on the song. As it is now if you add a 3rd verse or a bridge after the 2nd, the songlayer becomes useless, but this way we could create songlayers that sit on top of sections of a song, and become reusable objects, just like the riffs loops.

how about sound effects? whistles, bells, audience, water, weather, animals, etc.
or is there some i'm not aware of we can buy?

i'd like to have a stadium audience or a small club type background, applause would be fun, especially a classical audience applause, with all the "bravo's" and such.
