I am seriously getting mad. I don't know maybe it's just because I'm an idiot but I can't figure out how to activate my riffworks. It says I have to go to line6 to activate it and I did and I registered myself and the gear. Then it says I have to go to sonoma to register and I did. Now what do I do? I read on this site that you have to go to riffcast on your Riffworks and I did but when I press it it says need to go to line6.com and I did already. Can someone help me please!!! I need detalied instructions because I'm stupid lol.

Hey Brian, pasted from near the bottom of the Sonoma home page FAQ.............

Activation with the Line 6 Monkey
In order activate RiffWorks Line 6 Edition, you'll need an active internet connection, and your Line 6 device connected and running the most recent drivers from Line 6.

If you purchased RiffWorks with GuitarPort RiffTracker:

Your hardware should already be activated.
Run RiffWorks and it should connect to the internet and activate automatically.
If you purchased RiffWorks in the Line 6 store:

Open the Line 6 Monkey.
Login to your account.
Go to the Optional Add-Ons tab.
Click on Activate Purchase.
Enter your License Code.
If you have problems with activation, please contact: Line 6 support.

Hope this is what you're after, some details may not be exact, you may have bought toneport or POD etc but I think this is the gist of it. It all comes from Line6 Monkey.

Uncle Bill
No-one remembers what you do or say. Everyone remembers how you made them feel. Allegedly !!!!

I'm sorry the activation process isn't straight forward. It's hard for us to make it any simpler because of the need to activate with both Line 6 and SWW. Here are the generic activation instructions we send out:

Activation is a two part process. You need to first activate RiffWorks using the Line 6 Monkey. Once you've used the Monkey to activate, you'll need to activate/register with us to be able to use the drummers, RiffCast, etc.

1. Click on Start -> All Programs -> Line 6 -> Tools -> Line 6 Monkey
2. After launching the Monkey, click on the UPDATES tab
3. There will be a warning symbol next to any item that needs updating. Make sure you update all marked items
4. To activate RiffWorks, click the OPTIONAL ADD-ONS tab, click RiffWorks and type in your key when prompted. If you don't have your key handy, go to www.line6.com and sign in using your Line 6 login information. Once logged in, click on "My Account" and then choose the "License Keys" link on the left. Use this key in the Monkey to activate RiffWorks with Line 6 using the steps above.

Now you can activate RiffWorks with us:

1. Open RiffWorks
2. Click the RiffCast button
3. Type in your SonomaKey login name and password. If you do not yet have a SonomaKey login name and password, you'll need to create a new one one clicking the "Register" button found on the same window. After creating a name, please return to the login prompt and enter your newly created login information.

That's it! If you've forgotten your SonomaKey login information, then you have emailed to you using the password retrieval form at https://www.sonomawireworks.com/store/index.php?main_page=password_forgotten

Please let us know if you need further assistance,
Randy

Hi I'm having the same problem activating line 6 edition of riffworks. I follow instructions as already posted. I have both registered with line 6 and sonoma however when i click on riffcast in riffworks in order to register the program it still tells me to visit line 6 and activate. Therefore i am unable to activate the program. Really would appreciate some help. This is driving me crazy!!!

No, I had this same problem over multiple devices not to long ago. You just need to crossgrade to Sonomas' Standard version of RW and all will be good. If you have already purchased RW 2.0 thru Line 6, it just costs an additional 29.00. There's instructions on the site as to what you'll need to do to crossgrade.

Its worth it IMO, now I can connect as many Line 6 devices as I wish and download RW over several different computers.

The problem is that the license key for RiffWorks can only be stored in one interface device at a time. However, you can trick the system by having both the GuitarPort and PodXT plugged into your computer at the same time. You should then be able to choose either device. Just make sure they're both plugged directly into the computer and that they're NOT connected via a USB hub.

Let me know how that works,
Randy
