My Riffworks hangs when I use my FCA202 Firewire audio-interface.
It works fine with other programs.

It's not on the recommended hardware list. You may find it's just one of those unfortunate incompatability issues. I have the same instability issues with my TASCAM US-428 which is a real bummer as I prefer its audio handling to my Line6 TonePort UX2.
