My only recording experience was with a little Fostex 4 track a long time ago until Riffworks /Line 6 came along . I love what you can now do on your PC but was hoping for some advice on setting the Recording/Mixing levels for my guitar songs.
I typically have the guitar level at -10 db for a full chord and find that sometimes the drums cause the mix to clip in cycles. Is there any advice out there for beginners with this software for setting levels for songs and to help mix the riffworks sound.
I have the Line6 version and guitarport and record mostly distorted/Overdrive guitar sounds.

Thanks

David

Try for about -6db on the gtrs, and bass. Then bring up the drums to your personal taste. Also, for rythym guitars(and leads if you want) record two seperate tracks and pan them apart. Not only will it sound fuller, you won't need as much level on them like if you only had 1 track.
