Hi all

I've recently got an M-audio JamLab, which is a USB ASIO device for plugging my guitar and headphones into. now here's my problam. I can play my guitar into riffworks, and it records, but I can't hear the layer I'm recording. when I get to layer 2, I still can't hear what I'm actually playing on my guitar, but I can hear riff1 playing back to me. any ideas what I can try, as it seems like the live sound isn't routing to the headphones.

Regards

Rowbi

Do you have a full duplex sound card? That's tech-talk for a sound card that allows you to listen while you record.

thanks for that.

I'm using the jamlab as my sound card, and I assume it should be full duplex, as when I'm recording the 2nd layer in riffworks, it's playing me the first layer in the headphones, but what I'm playing gets recorded to riffworks, but I can't hear it. (so it's playing and recording something at the same time, full duplex).

I just wondered if anyone knew what I'm doing wrong, because the jamlab is meant to work with riffworks, that's why I bought it.
Cheers,

Looks like a cool little device, can't wait to hear it. Anyways M-Audio support is usually very good. Here's a quick start guide for when you can't hear the guitar signal.

i think I was being a dum ass. I had the hardware monitor button still engaged at the bottom of the riffworks window. one swift click, and it's turned off, and I can hear what I should be able to through the jamlab!

cheers for your help guys.

The most frustrating problems I've run into are almost always caused by my sheer ignorance. Funny how one little button can solve all your problems and turn frustration into inspiration. Glad you got it working!
