Right...I have now gotten my amplitube live activated.

Now I do have another query (probably me being a numpty again)...I start riffworks , and start up instant drummer, and I can hear the drum track...ok?

Now I click on hardware, and diasble hardware monitoring, and then effects, where I select "amps", and from the drop-down list I select "amplitube live".

How do I hear guitar properly?? The levels move, but all I get is some kind of crappy, whistly, feedbacky washed out guitar noise, which can't actually be heard properly over the normal sound of strumming the guitar. I.e. the normal sound of an umplugged electric guitar's strings being hit is drowning out the amplitube live.

Have I got something set up wrong???

Should I ALSO be able to somehow hear both the instant drummer AND the guitar sound at the same time?....(i.e. play along with the instant drummer??)

I think I am getting there, this is all new to me, so any help that anyone can offer on this query would be very much appreciated!

kind regards,

Steham

Glad to hear you're getting there Steve. Which piece of hardware have you got your guitar plugged in to?
If you're using GuitarPort or TonePort and running GearBox at the same time, you'll be getting FX on top of FX.
Cheers!

Hi Scott,

Well...I am using a macmice guitar to usb adaptor....

http://www.macheaven.co.uk/?page=proddetail&prod=2974

Which MIGHT be my problem...from what I have read, this is supposed to be ok, but maybe I should have a stealth?

If I sound like I have no idea what I am talking about...you are probably right!!..please bear with me!!!

kind regards,

Steve

Don't worry ... GuitarPort and TonePort are hardware devices from Line6 that allow you connect your instrument/mic and then route the signal through some amp modelling/FX software called GearBox.

I'm afraid I'm not a Mac man so I can't offer any advice on your problem. I'm hoping Randy or Hayden from the Support Dept. will pick this up.
Cheers!

Hello Steham,

Can you tell me what is listed in the Audio Setup of RiffWorks? To find out, launch RiffWorks and click on the Audio Setup button in the lower right hand corner. Please tell me what it says in each box and drop down.

Users have had a lot of success with the Stealth Plug, but I'd like to try and help you get this up and running with what you have.

Hi Hayden,

Thanks for getting back to me...

ok..here's whats in my audio set-up window..

Under "Audio device" drop-down box, I have two options a) C-Media USB Headphone and b) Built in audio

Under "Output channel" theres just one item in the dropdown box which simply says "channel 1 & 2"

Then theres the buffer size window, which currently has 14 frames selected

and the latency window says "Input : 14 samples" "Output: 14 samples" and "Total: 0.634921 milliseconds"

Thats about it...the frame rate doesnt seem to make a great difference if I alter it though.

If I use try the demo of amplitube 2 or the jimi hendrix amplitube, I can hear the guitar perfectly (taken into account the bursts of white noise hiss thats on the demo versions of these programs)

If I open riffworks I can hear drumtracks, but cannot hear any guitar using the amplitube live plug-in....Iff I have riffworks open, and I open the demo of amplitube 2 or hendrix amplitube, then I can hear both....but for some reason the riffworks isnt liking the amplitube live plug-in

does any of this make any sence?

kind regards,

Steve

oh and if I have the Audio Device set up as "built in audio", it lets me have more input and output samples which are then listed at being 45 if the frame is set to 14
