I bought a Guitarport Rifftracker with Riffwork

it ask me a license key, I found anything about it in my packaging, my seller doesn't know anything about it...

I search on the line6 website, go to the store it said that i have to buy the complet software... it's 99 dollars for riffworks, i've already Paid 279 €(france) (*/- 380 dollars) for it!!

I have to (re)pay this full-software to activate it ???? just the license key isn't cheaper????

Perhaps how does line6 justify the price difference between a guitarport without riffworks and a guitarport/rifftracker if in both case we must have to buy the full software.... 99dollars...
It would be cheaper for me to buy guitarport alone and then the software....

Thanks for your answers

Since you bought GuitarPort RiffTracker you do not need to buy RiffWorks because it is included. Here are the instructions for activating it:

I'm sorry the activation process isn't straight forward. It's hard for us to make it any simpler because of the need to activate with both Line 6 and SWW. Here are the generic activation instructions we send out:

Activation is a two part process. You need to first activate RiffWorks using the Line 6 Monkey. Once you've used the Monkey to activate, you'll need to activate/register with us to be able to use the drummers, RiffCast, etc.

1. Click on Start -> All Programs -> Line 6 -> Tools -> Line 6 Monkey
2. After launching the Monkey, click on the UPDATES tab
3. There will be a warning symbol next to any item that needs updating. Make sure you update all marked items
4. To activate RiffWorks, click the OPTIONAL ADD-ONS tab, click RiffWorks and type in your key when prompted. If you don't have your key handy, go to www.line6.com and sign in using your Line 6 login information. Once logged in, click on "My Account" and then choose the "License Keys" link on the left. Use this key in the Monkey to activate RiffWorks with Line 6 using the steps above.

Now you can activate RiffWorks with Sonoma Wire Works:

1. Open RiffWorks
2. Click the RiffCast button
3. Type in your SonomaKey login name and password. If you do not yet have a SonomaKey login name and password, you'll need to create a new one one clicking the "Register" button found on the same window. After creating a name, please return to the login prompt and enter your newly created login information.

That's it! If you've forgotten your SonomaKey login information, then you have emailed to you using the password retrieval form at https://www.sonomawireworks.com/store/index.php?main_page=password_forgotten

Please let us know if you need further assistance,
Michelle

Thank you but i've THIS problem in my account

"License Key Status"
There aren't any License Keys to install.
License Keys can be purchased from the Store.

And in the store they ask me to pay 99 dollars for the software

Hello Baryton,

Your purchase of Guitarport Rifftracker also included your purchase of RiffWorks. A license key should have been included in the box. Since it seems that it was not included, I suggest that you contact Line 6 support. Explain to them that you have purchased the Guitarport Rifftracker retail package and that a license key was not included in the box.

Since you are based outside of the US, I think this email address should help you.

gport@line6.be

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,

Hayden

Thank you very much for your answsers,

I contacted Line6Miller (administrator of Line6 support forum)
he told me that my version of riffworks should be already activated through line6monkey
Line6Miller:"To activate your Riffworks just install the software and launch it. Make sure you have an internet connection when you do so. If the activation doesn't work right away try a refresh using our Line 6 Monkey software. To do this, launch Line 6 Monkey, go to the Optional Add Ons tab, click on Activate Purchase and type in the word "refresh" and then click activate."

But it doesn't work anymore... i answered him about that

Thanks for the email adress, i'm going to write one now

hello Hayden

FYI, in the GuitarPort Rifftracker box there's NO RW key; the units are pre-activated

also, in the user profile there's no RW key showing when it's a Rifftracker

if you ever have requests about this issue, I'd recommend you advice the customers doing an activation with Monkey typing 'refresh' in the box (without '')

cheers

My mistake. Yes, the Guitarport's with the Rifftracker sticker on them are pre-activated. You need only to launch the software with an internet connection and that should activate everything. However, I'm not sure that a refresh would fix anything since the product should already be owned by the Guitarport.

Baryton, how are things going? Did you get it activated?
