I have all expansion packs except the bass. I tried it for 30 days but somehow, I was already spoiled with IK's Ampeg plug-in so I returned it. Never heard about improvements in sound quality? That's interesting! Maybe someone else will comment there. As for the tones? There were a few really good ones and the rest just kinda fell flat for me. All the other packs I wouldn't do without however. The modeling is truly amazing and while I've tried nearly every other I always come back to these tones :-)

I used to have an original BassPod (not XT) and never fell in love with it. Then I bought the BassPack for my UX2 (and sold the BassPod) and was somewhat impressed but not overly so. Then I bought the VST Plug-in option for the UX2 and voila I saw the light. Now I can't imagine not having the BassPack and it is my main go-to for bass tones. I think the key to it is being able to initially record the bass dry and then find the proper tones at mixdown after the fact. (I even leave the UX2 plugged in as a dongle for when I'm using my Firepod as the main ASIO.) It seems like way too much of a guessing game otherwise and bass is just way too important in a mix to make random guesses. And I do find that I am using many of the BassPack models besides the five freebies that come with GearBox. It's all good.

"Have I Thanked You"

(P) 2007 Mauve Music Co

Here's a new song recorded and mixed on Tracktion3 and my Roland VS-2480 and it features the GearBox BassPack on bass as well as some verb and faux room reflections via GearBox. A friend of mine Danny First hired me to record nine songs a couple of weeks ago. Things went well and this is the first finished song of the bunch. Enjoy!

Was my face on that that blog post? The pic of the guy holding the acoustic is Danny First (although we both have similar features). Here's a better pic of me:

Apologies. I just assumed the guy with headphones and a guitar would be yourself!
They obviously don't sell razors in Illinois!
Cheers!
