GuitarSlinger is giving good advice - one step at a time. Keep in mind that L6 software is tied to the L6 device so until the GP is working right, the variables are too great to narrow the scope of your investigation.

i get no sound from the gp at all, it has no icon on the desk top either.

line 6 says there is no keys to get either.

i don't know where to start xcept way back with the riff trcker disc.

and many thanks to give me this time to help.

o and i even tried to run gp out to speakers for windows media player and the volume is very low. that's what i did on the old pc. so it must be the gp.

It's ok I'm on vacation I have alot of time. ;)

Crossgrading is surely an option that will allow you to use either device but I don't know if you can since you got the Rifftracker package. But I think you should get your GP working too.

Here is what I would do.

Go into control panel and add/remove programs and remove guitarport. Unhook the usb cable. Download the latest version of Gearbox from Line 6. Version 3.10.

Install that and follow all the directions carefully.

Make sure the Gearbox application is working with audio before attempting do anything with Riffworks.

Upgrade to Riffworks V2 Line 6 edition if you haven't yet. You'll need it for Gearbox.

Congrats fooks! Isn't it great to be up and running again?

Scott, on behalf of the "team," thank you for the kind remark.
