Oddly I had the same problem out of nowhere over the weekend. Only thing I recall is I installed something (I can't remember exactly what) but didn't do a restart when prompted, and then had the cowbell problem later. After I did a restart things were back to normal...it could be pure coincidence, but I thought I would pass it along.

Good luck Bob!

I used to have this problem when I had a Pod and a Firewire Solo connected at the same time. It had to do with the ASIO driver. I'm sorry I can't help much more than that; I solved the problem by getting rid of the Solo.

This weekend I installed the drivers for a USB Midisport and had to reinstall RWS 2.1.

Before I reinstalled, mine would also hang on the cowbell.

When riffworks hangs shut it down with the task manager, then unplug your usb cable and reattach it, or turn your Pod off and back on. When you resart riffworks it should be all good. I've had this for years.

OK...I fixed it but it was actually a program on my PC called Tunebite. I uninstalled it and RW is back up and running. I just had to conjourr up some of my old "Beta Junkie" powers and think about the problem a bit.

Lookout!.....This Junkie is back in action!...mwhauahahaha

Sorry for just getting to this. I was out of town again (no more scheduled vacations planned at this point). Tunebite, eh? Did Dug suggest uninstalling it, or did you figure this out on your own? Did you figure out how it was affecting RiffWorks?

Strange!

I figured out to unistall it by myself. Tunebite installs an ASIO driver that I did not know about. I am going to re-install it to see if it will work without the driver maybe. I will let you know.
