Hi everyone!

I have been messing around with a few recordings and I keep getting these popping sounds along with what sounds like micro shifts in the tempo, almost like a temporary loss of data. I have my controls set to extra large because anything less is simply too painful to playback. I admit my machine is a bit old but I should have plenty of memory to run this. Any advice?

Thanks :)

Are the popping sounds during playback within RiffWorks and/or in your mix files?
How much RAM are you running with and which soundcard?

Check this recent thread out too.

Switch to a firewire audio interface if you can. In my experience USB is often the culprit of pops and clicks. Otherwise, check latency and buffer settings and try playing with those.
