can I run my soundcard output into riffworks and record it?

can I take the output of my soundcard (mp3 file playing for ex.) and record it into a riff? guitar port is my input devices. I run the soundcard intput into the 'in' plug on my guitar port. I hear it in riffworks, but it doesn't record it. can it? thanks

I use my g.port as my soundcard and asio input interface..i have no problem recording into r.works from the h.phone out on the back of g.port and inputing into the front of g.port..useing a no amp or efxs setting..i can record anything i hear on my comp. into r.works that way...works great for me...but stero signals will be recorded in mono..

You'll have to make sure that RiffWorks has the audio set up to take the signal from your GuitarPort with the main computer set to use your soundcard as playback and GuitarPort to record.
