I gave a friend my GuitarPort RiffTracker because I use my PODxt and RiffWorks Standard all of the time now. Anyway, my version of RiffTracker allowed me to upgrade from RiffWorks Line 6 version 1.0 to 2.0 for free – because it was purchased after a certain date. However, RiffTracker won’t allow him to upgrade to L6 version 2.0. I did un-register the GP and it is now registered to my friend. Any advice appreciated. :/

I think this going to be best answered by Line6 customer service.

I am sure it is because you have already upgraded and L6 would know this (by the electronic ESN). Plus they are not going to apply benefits afforded to the original customer to the 2nd hand purchaser.
I bought a used Vax 500 quite a while back and when searching for firmware updates the Monkey wanted more info at 1st. After that it did allow for any updates but does not show it as a registered item in my account as it is a used item.

gator, I agree that L6 customer service “should” be the go to source but unfortunately, my post there received no response. It seems like this matter was discussed here and at L6 forums a while back but searches didn’t help.

camaro24gold, I thought of that also but I have received 2 RiffWorks (Line 6 version) with 2 different purchases – one which I never used and never registered because I crossgraded to RW Standard about a year ago.

Bill, Bill, Bill…since you moving to the States in October, shouldn’t you be busy packing canned blood pudding or something?

Yeah I know Ed but I could see your question slowly disappearing off the page and I thought it was about time someone said something so I stopped everything to help out...........haha

At least it woke up Posh Junky and Baby Face Junky for ya and on the face of it my advice was a lot sounder than theirs anyway !!!!

Thanks Bill, your version of the "bump" was effective in waking Posh Junky and Baby Face Junky. Would you mind clarifying which is Posh and which is Baby Face? ;)

gator is identified as Posh and so, through the process of elimination, we know who “Baby Face” is. Too bad the names Spice and Nelson have been all ready claimed. ;)

Ed, I think Line6 is the only one who can fix the problem since the L6 version authorization is on their end, if its system not allowing the upgrade.
