I am not sure about the specs but will the soon-to-be-released Line 6 PODx3 and PODx3 Live devices be compatible with RiffWorks?

Yeah mickeymix, Line 6 is doing some mysterious marketing. A week ago several online stores were posting ads including PODx3 specs along with photos. Now, all those store sites have purged those product pages.

At the same time and since, a Line 6 moderator (L6 employee) is hinting that he has played the device and it sounds great. Of course, what else could a staff member say?

Perhaps, Line 6 doesn’t supply advanced info to companies like SWW about soon-to-be-released gear.

That stated, I won't purchase one until I know its compatible with RiffWorks.

Who knows what to expect exactly?

At this point, we do know it will be a hybrid blending PODxt and TonePort technology. Both the x3 and x3Live will have balance outputs, dual amp capability, guitar and microphone inputs, plus all the guitar, bass, and vocal model packs currently available. The price will be $100 more than the xt and xtLive.

Hmm…maybe this why gator gave his PODxt to his son! ;)

Unless I keep my PODxt as a backup (assuming I take the plunge and purchase a PODx3 Live), then whoever inherits it will get a complete set (including bass) of the model packs. I just gave my GuitarPort to a friend but couldn’t part with the model packs since the x3’s shipping date is unknown.

Several L6 forum members have said that their local dealers have told them D-Day is September is 20. :) We’ll see.

My guess is that they'll run perfect with RiffWorks Standard from day 1. Getting them to work with the Line 6 Edition will mean updating the monkey, keys, etc, so the roll out time could be longer there. I don't know though and don't have any insider information on this (yet).

RW Standard doesn't look at the Monkey, so it should just be plug-n-play being that they're ASIO compliant.

We'll let you know as soon as we get an update on this.

Damn! It never fails! As soon as I upgrade my Line6 toys they come out with something I can't live without! I think they wait on me for new releases, "hey guys, Throbby just bought the last model pack, it's time to ship the new toy". Damn, Damn, Damn....
