Please provide the option to turn off the global limiter in the next RiffWorks release!

I know this may seem absurd but there are times when the limiting is too audible and it kills the mix (for me). An option to bypass this feature is a MUST! I can deal with the digital clipping (distortion) in another program as needed. Also, digital distortion is a good clue that levels are too hot and I need to back off of something. If the limiter is kickin' in automatically I may not notice the "pumping and breathing" right away and end up with a slurpy, washy mix. Almost all audio recording applications allow clipping. While I understand the purpose of this limiting and love it's function there are going to be situations where I need to turn it off.

Anyone else share my opinion here? Speak up!

Thanks,
Rich

I agree...the limiter is a great feature but the option to turn it off would be helpful.

I 3rd that idea............. or at least give us a work around to shut it off.........I usually drop to (more or less) about -6 on the master gain to avoid clipping and then mix to WAV, then master in either Audacity, Wave Lab or Cubase to bring the levels back up..........but that's not allowed for RiffRumble material.........I've been hearing a lot of HOT mixes on RC lately...........mostly from the "new" guys...........

Unless it would cause the price of RWS to skyrocket, a fade in/fade out option would be cool. We could click INFO, then highlite a section then click fade in or fade out. Thanks for the consideration.

It would be most cool if we could pimp our "more music by" page..background/color themes/fonts...just wishing...

I second,( or third) the option to turn off global limiting. Also, would'nt it be great to have a 4 tracker sitting up where the songlayer is, and you could chose to keep or delete takes. That would get around the program being totally stuck in riff chunks with no mechanism for interweaving sections (apart from the far-to-basic songlayer). Also render riff to disk would be very useful. Thats all..Riffworks would then really do it for me. Cheers

Since we're are tossing ideas out there for future improvements. I was wondering if it would be possible to create, export or import individual track layers recorded from one a riff or songlayer to another just as we are able to do with songlayers into other songs.
Make sense? Is it possible? Are they not just files in themselves?

I am new to the site and will be purchasing riffworks standard soon. I am impressed with the forums which have been very helpful and also working with the line6 demo version and I love it. I was just wondering if there is plans for updating the software soon?

There are plans to update RiffWorks - we can't announce a date though.

Thanks and keep the suggestions coming :)
