Then I'll duck under the table!

If even some of these can be worked into the next release I'd be so happy it would scare children and small animals in our neighborhood....

Of course, of course I love this product! Don't throw me tomatoes just yet my good friends. Hear me out on these and let me know if you too have been wishing for this kinda stuff. I won't make ANY more suggestions for AT LEAST the next 48 hours, I promise!

1. Two inputs at once. Wow! This would seriously not only rock my world but the whole universe indeed!! Could you imagine? Sing and play guitar at the same time, record you and a buddy jamming live, play bass and guitar simultaneously with your...well, never mind that but you get the picture? How sweet it would be. Each input would go to its' own separate layer.

2. I'm keyboard dependent here people. I NEED those keyboard shortcuts like a crack addict needs the rock!! Stuff life SHIFT + ALT + CTRL T really twists my nipple. Can we do it? Can we do it? Pleeeeeeeeease?!

3. Undo? Ooops, I didn't mean to delete that layer or, that part I did just sucked. Hey! I'll go ahead and "undo" it and while I'm at it I'll use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + Z. Wooo hoooo!! I can't believe how much I'm friggin' diggin' RiffWorks now!!!

4. Riff Notes for each individual layer. Hey, why not?? Think about it :D

5. A preferences file. Ohhhhhhhh man, this one would do me sooooo proud you don't EVEN know! Imagine you can set up the list of VST plug-ins in a particular order, change how the drummers are organized, change the defaults for drummers, effects, inputs, etc. etc. This one is a biggie! I could have me fav drummer load up at start time with me fav input effects and analog input #8 set to go!! Not to mention I could have all of my levels and favorite VST loaded up and pre-set just right :D

6. Honestly, I'm gonna pay you a SERIOUS compliment here...I've been a user interface designer for over 9 years and this interface is the best I've seen for ANY DAW, sequencer or recording application!! It's the way it looks, the way it works, all of it! Forkin' aye brilliant kids! Just brilliant! Now, one small thing just for fun...

Visual themes! Give us a few different colors to choose from. Nothing too fancy. Kinda like Winamp does but simpler even. No need to tweak the 3d renders or anything like that. Just a color slider for some variety and change o' pace. The least important on the list but I couldn't walk away with a measly 5 suggestions now could I?

You guys seriously rock and RiffWorks is changing the world!! I hope you find these useful, inspiring or disappointing. Hell, I just hope you find 'em period!

Peace,
Rich

Just A Few Suggestions, Ideas, for Riffworks!

A Scroll Lock for: (Scroll Wheel), for Riff Recorder,(so that the Last Layer recorded with the Riff Recorder(Layer), stays at the bottom of the list, and dosen`t automatically go back to the beginning (of Scroll Wheel`s, 1st recorded Layers.)I have found I have to spin the Scroll Wheel constantly, from beginning of it, when the recorded layers are almost full,(in Riff Recorder), to work on the last recording layers on the Scroll Wheel. (when using most of the layers for recording.) I Think an option to be able to lock it from scrolling, would be great,(JUST TO KEEP THE LAST RECORDED LAYER ON THE BOTTOM ALWAYS,using RIFF RECORDER, Yet still letting it
keep adding current progressing recorded Layers, (in Riff Recorder), to the bottom,
with each recorded Layer, as it does now. (bottom of list of Layers, in Riff Recorder.)

It would be great if there was another way of scrolling though riff recorder layers, other than using the Scroll Wheel, (maybe a Slider Control instead.)

Another Idea is a: (Delete All Muted Button), to Delete all (yellow muted) Layers at once,(instead of Deleting each one seperately, one by one.

Another Idea: (Indicators) for the Master Gain Volume knob,Riff Gain knob, and VU Meters, that let you know the BEST SETTINGS, for these,(MASTER VOLUMES) to be able to get (THE BEST,GREATEST, MASTER PEAK VOLUMES, (To RIFFCAST your song at, other than the Red Limiters that flash in the VU`s.) (maybe Led(s) that flash above Master Gain Knob, and Riff Gain Knob (at 12:00 postion, or BEST RIFFCASTING POINT (Volumes) for song to be RiffCasted.

Another Idea: is more Riff Recorder Layers, and Song Layers to record with.

Another Idea: The Ability to split recorded layers or parts of it, (one colored Riff block, and add part of it to another (colored Riff Block). (to come up with a new Riff,
(from 2 different colored blocks-(take parts from each one), say half from 1 colored
riff block, and half from another, combind both, and create a new (Riff colored block with the both.) or have the ability to take bits and pieces from both to record a new (colored block, Riff.) (or to be able to do this, with Layers from 2 different colored blocks, and combind parts of them, using Layers from each in Riff Recorder,
to create a new (RIFF Colored Block.)

These are just some Ideas, and Suggestions ...

THANK YOU,

Wouldn't these be project templates rather than a prefence file?

Rich,

I don't know if it would work with riffworks or not, but I've "skinned" a few UIs that weren't designed to be skinnable. Check out the object desktop series of programs from stardock, particularly windows blinds. You can likely skin RW to your content with it.
"I think the problem might have been, that there was a stonehenge monument on stage in danger of being crushed, by a dwarf". "I really think you're making a big thing out of this". "Making a big thing out of it would have been a good idea".

Randy (I think) once said or was talkin' about RW possibly becoming like a VST plug-in that could sit in tracks of larger DAWs....I was wondering if this was still something being kicked around?

Hi Dug,
I have another idea or suggestion ...,
I was wondering if it would be possible to be able to get Riffworks to be able
to run at the lower screen resolutions (with possibly a download for alternate screen resolutions), to have Riffworks be able to run at lower screen resolutions:
(640X480 and 600 x 800 screen resolutions), to be able to run Riffworks on older
monitors. I have one I woould like to use with Riffworks for Recording, but, it will
only work at these screen resolutions. It would be nice to have lower screen
resolutions work with RiffWorks, if possible, as mentioned above, as well as the
current screen resolutions it now supports.
THANK YOU,

Good lord man, what kinda dinosaur are you usin that will only hit 640x480? You do understand that Riffworks probably won't run on your old 386 with DOS :D

I'd advise investing in a newer CRT monitor. With the myriad of LCDs coming out, you can pick up a nice flat-panel CRT for next to nuthin.

Hello Pooterpatty,
How`s it going? Yes, I do know this is the older technology,
but, I have a larger, older, monitor, than the one I`m currently using,
and would like to use it, if the resolutions were available.
I thought I read somewhere there may be other screen resolutions Riffworks may
run at, or that there may be more screen resolutions available in the future? I`m Not sure, I know right now it works at the higher screen resolutions.
